Krishi Kendra, located at Overbridge Chettikulangara. If you're coming from Ayurveda college side, then take the road behind Pothy's supermarket. This store is on the left side towards the end of the road, in the same compound of Mass Hotel.
At the entrance of the store, saplings of coconut are kept. When you step inside this store, it smells of manure and a cocktail mix of fertilizers. I often wonder how the staff feel about working in the limited space, stacked with all sorts of garden related materials, manures and equipment.
I found this store some time back and it's usually my stop to buy perlite, coco peat and I've bought cans for watering. Price is reasonable here.
Perlite is used for making the potting mix light and airy. For terrarium projects, you can use one part of perlite along with the soil.
Krishi Mitra
This store is some 500 meters to Krishi Mitra, which is more organized, spacious building. The difference of a private sector store and a Government run store there for you to see. One thing I liked about the Krishi Mitra is the kind of information given by the owner. I keep hearing him say about the usage of manure, tips on care and best results. I'll share in detail the picture and location of Krishi Mitra in another post.
